Hello, how much filling does this recipe make?
Hi Bonnie, I did not make a note on the amount made but I think you would have about 2 cups.
Thank you for your reply!
Will this work well with pineapple in juice rather than in syrup? My mom used to make this, but back in the day when the pineapple in juice was not available. Thanks.
Hi Peggy, Yes, the recipe will work well using pineapple juice.
hi could it be made with frozen pineapple please ?thanks
Hi Isobel, We have not tried making the pineapple filling with frozen pineapple. I would think that you could. I assume that the frozen pineapple is not crushed but larger pieces. If so, I would thaw and cut into smaller pieces. We use the liquid that is in the 20 oz can so a bit of water would need to be added. These are just my thoughts since I don't have first hand experience. I hope all goes well and you enjoy the recipe.
Can seven minute frosting be put on top of this filling?
Hi Jan, You could but I am not sure how long it will hold up on a wet filling.
