Rudolph Cake Topper- Video

Jump To Recipe Jump To Video

In this video, you will learn how to make a cute reindeer cake topper.  We're making Rudolph!  He goes perfectly with the little Santa cake topper that we made in another video. To see our Santa Video, CLICK HERE.

You'll notice that we use techniques in this video that are similar to the techniques used in our cow & horse videos.  The end result is a simple but very sweet reindeer--I hope that you enjoy the video!

Materials

Brown & white gum paste (my preference, but you could also use fondant mixed with tylose).   You'll also want a small amount of red fondant or gum paste for the nose (or you can use a red candy or sprinkle)

Black food coloring pen (if you don't have one, you can paint on eyes with a very fine paint brush or even a toothpick...or even a real, non-toxic pen..I won't tell ;0) )

Toothpicks or dry pasta noodles (for connecting legs and head to body)

Lollipop stick (optional anchor for securing deer's leg to cake)

Brown floral wire for antlers--20 gauge (doesn't have to be 20, as long as it holds it's shape)

Sugar/tylose glue (or your glue of choice)

Misc.---Toothpicks & white disco or pixie dust (optional)
