1. Will my subscription renew automatically?
Yes, the annual renewal date is based on the date that you joined. Your first subscription renewal will take place 1 year after your start date, and will renew on a yearly basis at a rate of $30 until you cancel. This renewal date is listed in the top right of the screen when you log into My Cake School. It is also on your e-mail confirmation from PayPal, and should also be available for you to view in your PayPal account. Reminder e-mails are sent out 30 days prior to your automatic renewal date, but please mark your renewal date on your calendar to be on the safe side–or, you can cancel the auto-renew at any time. (See below).
If your membership has been automatically renewed and you did not wish to be, please contact us asap to let us know!
2. How do I cancel my subscription through PayPal?
Click on the “Subscription” button in the top right of the screen. There, you will be taken to the PayPal page that will allow you to cancel the annual automatic renewal. If you have any problems with this, please let us know! If you somehow forget to cancel and did not want to be renewed, please let us know that also and we will work with you!
3. Where can I make changes to my password, e-mail, etc.?
You can find your profile page by clicking the “My Profile” button located near the greeting on the home page. Here, you can edit how your username displays in the forums, make changes to your e-mail address, password, and even share a little about yourself!
4. Where can I request topics for future video tutorials?
You will find a place for video requests in the Message Boards. Because of the volume of tutorial requests that we receive both in the forums and through e-mails, we cannot make a video for each request. There are just not enough hours in the day! ;0) –However, this is a great way for us to gauge the demand for particular techniques–we really do value your suggestions!
5. What should I do if I having loading issues or other issues with the site?
Luckily, the vast majority of viewing issues are only temporary. However, please let us know if you are having trouble by e-mailing us at email@example.com so that we can help you!
****Cannot See/Start the Videos–If you are having trouble playing videos–for instance, if there is no “play button” displaying, or if you have a greyed out screen, or if you see nothing but a pulsing “Viddler” logo, this is usually an indication that you need to update your Adobe Flash Player and/or browser. If updating your current version doesn’t fix the problem, you should next either update your current browser..or try to view the site in a different browser. Browsers that I like the most are linked here: Google Chrome, Safari, & Firefox. Internet Explorer in general tends to have the most compatibility issues (not just with our site, but others also) – You can find free updates & downloads for any of these browsers by visiting their home pages or clicking the links that I provided. Please let me know if you have issues!
6. Who is BeBe?
You’ll often hear me talking about BeBe on the Blog and in the videos also. BeBe is my mom— her real name is Lynda, but she is known as BeBe on the site and also by her grandchildren :0)- Mom knows A LOT about baking and decorating and has worked with me for years with my cake business. She is also the woman behind the camera!
7. I don’t like my computer generated password. Can I change it?
Yes, you can change your password to something much easier to use by visiting the “My Profile” section which is located near the greeting (and your name) on the home page. We find that easy-to-remember-phrases that have 24 characters are accepted by our system, but if you prefer a shorter password, you can experiment with shorter passwords that contain a mix of letters, symbols & numbers.
