I'm just curious how many bakers 'cheat' and use a box cake mix as opposed to making a cake from scratch?
I have certain recipes I will only make from scratch, but for most of my cupcakes/cake orders I use a mix and doctor it a bit...am I cheating the client?
If I made cakes all from scratch the cost would increase greatly and take away from my profits - I stock up on my cake mixes when they are on sale for $1.00 or less.

Am I wrong for passing off my doctored cakes as 'scratch' cakes? Afterall, I do add additional ingredients so they are kinda from scratch :0)
